The Hating Game de Sally Thorne es una comedia romántica con un enemies-to-lovers romance trope. Recientemente fue adaptada al cine y por eso me animé a leer esta novela.

Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman hate each other. Not dislike. Not begrudgingly tolerate. Hate. And they have no problem displaying their feelings through a series of ritualistic passive aggressive maneuvers as they sit across from each other, executive assistants to co-CEOs of a publishing company. Lucy can’t understand Joshua’s joyless, uptight, meticulous approach to his job. Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy’s overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and Pollyanna attitude.
Now up for the same promotion, their battle of wills has come to a head and Lucy refuses to back down when their latest game could cost her her dream job…But the tension between Lucy and Joshua has also reached its boiling point, and Lucy is discovering that maybe she doesn’t hate Joshua. Si tienen tiempo leyendo mis reseñas, sabrán que me encantan las novelas con un enemies-to-lovers romance trope. Realmente he visto que The Hating Game ha gustado mucho e incluso la adaptaron al cine con Lucy Hale de protagonista.
Por lo tanto, decidí animarme a leerla. Honestamente, al principio me la encontré un poco lenta y sinceramente no entendía porque se odiaban. Sin embargo, seguí leyendo hasta que me enganché bastante y tenía que terminarlo.
El personaje de Lucy me pareció super autentico, y el contrate entre ella y Joshua fue genial. La tensión entre ambos se podia cortar con un cuchillo, lo cual lo hacía aun mas divertido.
¿Qué no me gustó?
Como les mencioné anteriormente, el principio es muy lento y como lector debes disciplinarte a seguir leyendo. El personaje de Joshua me pareció un poco irreal, literalmente “Too good to be true”. También, uno realmente no entiende porque rayos se llevan mal y cuando finalmente lo declaran, es verdaderamente estúpida la razón
The Movie
Si les soy honesta lo que menos me gustó fue la película, tenia tiempo que no veía una adaptación tan mala. Creo que trataron de seguir muchas cosas al pie de la letra pero no había ninguna quimica entre los actores.
