The other day, I heard several teenagers complaining about how boring reading can be. Well let me tell you, it doesn’t have to be!
I know most teens consider they have to read classics in order to be an avid reader. That so not true. I actually recommend them to lay off the classics for now and start reading about things that are of their interest.
To be honest, I remember picking some classics from the library but not retaining anything. The only ones that I truly remember were the ones we read in our English class. I think that’s because we had the teacher to thoroughly explain the context of each one and pointing out facts that we would’ve ignored otherwise.
I’m turning 25 in a month, and I consider I’m truly enjoying classics a lot more now that I’m more mature. So don’t worry, you have all the time of the world to dive into them!
I made a list of some of the books I read when I was in high school and remember enjoying them so much!
