Book Review: Pride and Prejudice
To say that Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books, is an understatement! As I said before when I shared my review on Emma , I read it a long time ago when I was in high school and didn’t remember a thing.
Therefore, I decided to give it another go! It was a wonderful experience since I literally grew up admiring Elizabeth Bennet and her strong mind. However, I’m so much more mature now than when I first read it and I could perceive things differently.
I believe this is what the magic of rereading is. You get to experience everything a second time but from a different perspective.
This time around, I could appreciate how prejudiced Elizabeth was against poor Mr. Darcy. Although he was a snobbish asshole sometimes, I could totally see him for what he was. Just a shy guy!
Favorite Adaptation: Pride and Prejudice by Joe Wright
I must admit that the Joe Wright version is not precisely loyal to the book, but it’s still my favorite adaptation. I think the characters are very well portrayed by the amazing cast.
Moreover, this movie was my favorite when I was only 11 years old. Now, I’m turning 25 and it’s still my go to movie when I’m feeling nostalgic or just want to feel good.
