Hey fellow book meddlers!

I know I’ve been kind of MIA lately. Work has been crazy and adapting back into the real world has been…a challenge, to say the least. You might be wondering, then why keep this blog if you don’t even have the time to read? Well, I keep saying to almost everyone that you have to keep the part that makes you feel like the best human being alive. I believe that people are so wrong when they say work is the most important aspect of your life, I mean it is important and you gotta be responsible about it. However, that doesn’t mean you should forget about yourself.

For me, books bring out the best in me. They keep me grounded, but at the same time they allow me to escape my reality for a few minutes. Call it a book worm meditation if you must.

R.S. Grey was kind enough to email me this ARC of His Royal Highness a few weeks ago. Although I read it, I couldn’t find the time to write this review! So this is me, following my advice and focusing on what I love the most and being responsible about the things that bring ME the most joy in life.

As always, R.S. Grey focuses on bringing us stories that fill us with hope. Most of her novels are set in a world of positivity and growth, no matter the circumstances the characters might find themselves in. If you’re an avid reader of this author you should know what I’m talking about. Almost in every chapter, you’ll find yourself smiling at some point. I like to think, this is the way she actually tries to view the world.

His Royal Highness is no exception! I would call this a contemporary fairytale, where the prince is not precisely the ultimate prize to win, but the idea of a team is. This love story might begin with a certain student in distress (Whitney) who develops the ultimate crush on her mentor (Derek) . We romantic readers do love this kind of story, but who are we kidding? Times are definitely changing, specially for us women. You see, the author allowed Whitney to find herself and grow up.

Realistically we can’t control our feelings, so Whitney had to live with hers as well. 8 laters she finds herself forced to work with Derek, whom I totally fell in love with. As I said before, the team is the ultimate prize because they bring out the best of each other and that should always be the goal. He makes her realize that she’s wasting her opportunities to be better for herself and not others.

This story was definitely a temporary escape to enjoy myself and laugh out loud, so I totally recommend it!
