From New York Times bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes an unexpected love story of secondhand hearts and second chances…

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress.

Something blue.

I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old.”

Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

The name embossed on the blue stationery: Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered he’s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there. Because I’ve since found out something else about Mr. Starry-Eyed.

He’s arrogant, cynical, and demanding. I should know. Thanks to a twist of fate, he’s my new boss. But that’s not going to stop me from discovering the story behind his last love letter. A love letter that did not result in a happily ever after.

But that story is nothing compared to the one unfolding between us. It’s getting hotter, sweeter, and more surprising than anything I could have imagined.

Something new.

But I have no idea how this one is going to end…

I absolutely loved this story!

I personally love when the heroine in the story has a bunch of personality and our Charlotte definitely covers that area. She cracked me up every single time! No matter what, she would not stop being herself despite how embarrassing it might be. For instance, the typing thing where she pretended to type instead of saying what she was thinking, was so embarrassing but equally clever.

“I’m typing all the things I really want to say to you, to get it all out without actually having to say the words. Trust me, this is what’s best for both of us.”

I mean, I could definitely use that theory, I’m the kind of girl that thinks out loud …this would avoid future confrontations, if you get what I mean…

On the other hand, we have a secretly romantic but broody handsome man like Reed. That makes you laugh out loud with his jealous outbursts and strategic hate notes. However, we know that Reed is an introvert romantic even if he denies himself the pleasure to show it.

Both Reed and Charlotte are recovering from a broken heart. The difference is that Charlotte is willing to move on, whilst Reed doesn’t even put the effort. Nevertheless, Charlotte’s bucket list attitude is full contagious and even Reed can’t help being dragged into it.

I don’t know why but I love the hate to love in this story. I find the banter between characters super funny. Something else that distinguishes this novel from others is the fact that our hero is sick. Honestly, at first I was all “Oh my god! PLEASE DON’T DIEEEEEEEEE”. This meant a full twist on the story but then I was like, this can actually happen in real life, and it does happen. Sometimes we’re committed in a healthy and loving relationship, but that means we’re also committed in any of our partner’s situations. Remember in sickness and in health?? That definitely plays a big part in this story.

Sorry for the spoilers, but these facts are what make this story worthwhile. Trust me on this one, Hate Notes will blow your mind! I was actually getting together with friends for dinner and at some point, I was sneakily reading it on my computer while they were all cooking…guess who had to do the dishes???
