This story is inspired by true events. It’s set in Copenhagen, Denmark, which I loved since I wanted to hop on a plane immediately just to experience the beautiful places Karen Ferry described!
I actually got to visit this city last year, and it was everything this book portrayed and more! I read it in 2015 and I still keep it in a special place in my heart, since it made me feel an amazing rollercoaster of emotions.
I must warn you, there are many triggers in this story. Emma has a ton of baggage. However, she builds this bad girl façade so she can hide her demons. There’s something in particular that makes her stand out though, she doesn’t kiss. She’s no virgin, in fact she has quite the hook up repertoire!
On the other hand, Daniel is her boss’s nephew at the book store she works at, who has recently moved to the city. He’s her complete opposite. He’s this shy, nerdy guy who’s also a virgin. But you know what they say, opposites attract!
Emma and Daniel grow closer and reveal those hidden demons that have structured each of their personalities. I loved how Emma put her resting bitch face attitude on hold, whilst Daniel was becoming more badass by the minute, proving he was only shy around people. In private, that’s another story…
I have not yet read the other books in this series, but I’m sure they’re as amazing as Make Me Believe. I truly recommend this book with all my heart, so go ahead and get your copy as soon as possible!
