Book Review: Fallen Saint

I know I’ve been kind of MIA the last couple of months. I’ve been working towards the end of my masters and that included finalizing my thesis, which took a lot of hard work to be honest! Thank God everything went just fine, and it got approved!

This means that now I have more free time to read and write reviews for you guys!

So I just finished Fallen Saint by Monica James and it was AMAZING! In my opinion much better than Bad Saint, the first book in this trilogy. Willow is a lot more independent and in my opinion, more sassy even. In this book, I noticed that the author molded this character to portray a very strong and determined woman. Although we could see glimpses of this in the first book, it completely blooms in Fallen Saint.

On the other hand, Saint has let his guard down and is finally embracing his feelings towards Willow. We get to know him more as a man in general than an actual kidnapper. In this book he’s the hero, not the bad guy.

Now let’s mention the most intriguing character in this book: Aleksei. I honestly don’t know what to think about him. I mean, I’m already hating this guy since book one, only by Saint mentioning his MO with women and the way he has treated his sister Zoey. However, in Fallen Saint, I get to meet Aleksei, although at the beginning he’s a complete asshole, Monica James gives us hints of his humanity along the story.

My favorite part is that the reader goes through the same dilema as Willow within the story. I don’t know if I hate Aleksei anymore. Surprisingly, he shows her all the kindness an abductor can give, I guess.

All in all, this series does not disappoint so far. Can’t wait for the final book to come out!
